My way too early yardage prediction thread

He didn't suck the whole year. Cmon, Mitch

The last 8 games is close enough. Fucking embarrassing is what Stafford was down the stretch. To the point where he shouldve been benched. He looked lost out there. The Lions were playing for the division and Stafford craps out for half the season? What a fucking puke. If he comes close to doing that shit this year, I hope the Caldwell has the stones to bench him, regardless of what happens with the season. Accountability

I agree with you in theory kdp, but if Caldwell benches Stafford and puts in Dangerous Dan Orlofsky for anything but a leg amputation... he will experience a simulated Islamic stoning to death with 1000s of plastic souvenir stadium cups.

What if Shaun Hill was still on the roster?

Last 8. Now you are exaggerating. Packer game very good with a win, at Bears game good with a win, Eagles game blizzard, Vikings game good QB rating day but team let him down with no pass pro(5 sacks) or run blocking(less than 3.4 YPC).

Steelers game, 100 rating through the first 3 Quarters then his teammates couldn't hang onto the ball in the 4th.

Ravens/Bucs/Giants points were scored, many led by Stafford drives. Stafford even had a game winning drive late against Ravens and Bucs despite 7 ints but he got screwed over by Calvin then Justin Tucker.

Stafford was good enough in the last 8 games.

Go look at Aikman's numbers though. He was a mediocre QB at best and he had a top-flight WR in Irvin, a top-flight TE in Novacek, killer OLine and a top-flight RB in Smith. Loaded with HOFers on the O and D. He was spoiled his whole career. What he did very good was that he played his ass off in the playoffs. He played off the charts and i can't take that from him, but if we're going by the numbers, he was average.

Mediocre compared to what? His peers? He was top 5 among peers. Stats back that up.
If you compare him to QBs now a days he is average. However everyone (besides LKP) agrees it is easier to play QB now then it was in the early 90s. It's unfair to compare generations and say since Stafford is putting up stats similar to Aikman he is as good as Aikman.
Aikman was regulary a top 5 QB in his day. Stafford has been in mid teens/low 20s for all but one season

"Should"..lmao. He sucked for two years and suddenly a new WR and TE he'll have a monster year..
Having a couple extra targets, new scheme, working on his footwork... expect a great year from him. If they fail to make the playoffs, I doubt it will be on him. How will teams defend them with CJ, Tate, Ebron, Pettigrew, and Bush on the field at the same time? Crazy to think of that attack.

No he didn't. But overall he did, the second half was that bad.

Stafford can be successful with a short field. The defense isn't good enough to give him that though..the longer the field the more chances for him to fk up..so he'll rack up the yards but when all said and done..I don't think he becomes consistent enough..a couple good throws followed by a shitty one..

We all knew Stafford isn't very accurate..you don't need to defend all of them. Durham might be a pos but it's not like going from a backup to Jerry Rice. Tate is a nice addition but he's not a huge upgrade. Ebron hasn't done a thing yet, and Bush will have his usual injuries..which will be followed by bucket full of excuses.

13 ints...not good enough

Last 8? No way. I'll admit he was bad in the second half, but his WRs/RBs let him down as well.

Van Noy should make a big difference. He is my pick for defensive ROY. That was a great pick and should help the secondary plus the fact their going to reduce the man and zone coverages. I like what I have been hearing on Sirrus.

He's played 3 years, one was very good and two were very bad. Either the first was a fluke or the last two were. I can't get my head around it and suddenly think he'll turn it around and be good/more consistent. What QB have had two bad years that end up having a good career? I bet the list is short.

Stats?? His stats are brutal...lol. Are you shittin me? The guy never threw over 23 TDs in a season, QB comp % of 61%, he never threw over 3,500 yds, his QB career rating was 81.6, he averaged 13 TDs a season. His stats were bunk!!! lol

And I'm not comparing him to Stafford. I realize that it was a different era and more of a running game back then, but Aikman did nothing special during the regular season in his 12 year career. he had a HOF team backing him up to the fullest. And if we're going to talk Stafford\Aikman numbers? Stafford will blow Aikman outta the water by the time it's all said and done. Aikman has the hardware though...

Lkpballs??

Cmon man! Are you blind?? I know he was bad, but he got bent over with the garbage he had to throw to in the clutch. Even CJ had some huge drops that cost this team...

more weapons wont matter if he just locks onto his primary then dumps down like hes done his entire career. More weapons wont matter if his accuracy doesn't improve. His accuracy wont improve if his footwork and pocket presence doesn't improve. He did suck the last 8 games. 1 playoff appearance sucks. 1 playoff blowout loss sucks.

We did have a lot of drops that were on the receivers. But he also missed a ton that were on him..throws that the receivers just weren't close enough to catch. Everyone gets the blame but he deserves quite a bit.

Stafford deserves all the criticism he gets. He was flat for a majority of the season
