My way too early yardage prediction thread

And injuries caused them to have to re-address RB and WR. They had enough cap (other than 2012) and picks over the years to do both.

650 yards and 5 TDs in 2014.
800+ yards and 5-7 TDS every other year barring injury.

My guys were Mack, Gilbert, Watkins and Lewan. All gone except Lewan.

Lewan was struggling so far per what I've read but improving. He won't start this year behind Roos and Oher in Ten. Doing the ole Riley Reiff routine.

From what I've read Ebron is having his own issues as well. Many rookies struggle.

yup....running and catching is super tough for some people. especially top 10 picks....

He's a rookie, genius. Happens all the time. Yesterday, Sammy Watkins and EJ Maunuel were on the NFLN and Watkins is telling everyone that him and Manuel are struggling to get a rythm going right now. No big deal....i'm sure Ebron will be fine. It's not just about running and catching a football. Stop acting like a fn retard.

If Dennard was the pick, and Ebron fell to the Ravens at 17 (which was a strong possibility as they quoted as much), would you be saying it was good that they drafted a guy who will earn a position in the secondary and likely lock it down for years, vs a luxury pick on a team that was already 3rd in passing yards? There are so many ways you can spin the draft pick to make it positive. Even you came out and said you were not happy with the pick, and reinforced that recently. There are much more pressing needs on this team. Another tight end was near the bottom of that list.

Problem is that Ebron was the guy from the start because they knew Watkins was not going to be there. I guess the argument is whether he was the best available at the pick. ... They drafted best available, not by need. I think Denard or Gilbert were need picks to the Lions. Both were probably better as well... In my opinion. Oh well, we will see.

And that's my general gripe about the way the Lions draft, it's been BPA for as long as I can remember. For me, it's okay to reach a few spots to fill a position that you are desperate to improve, rather than take a luxury (which Ebron is). Hopefully he works out and the Lions win.

One would think after years of losing, time and time again, they would want to build a team / organization right. They don't because it's a hobby for them.

they don't cause theyre stuck trying to support an average qb who they are paying like the best qb in the league.

Like i said before. I wouldn't have been mad at the Dennard pick, but there would have been huge growing pains with him. There always is with a rookie CB. Especially a kid who only played 'man' in college. I'm not saying he never would have been good, but it would have been a 2-3 year window with him. Dummies on here expect rookies to come in here and become All-Pros from the jump. The chances of Ebron to make an immediate impact are greater IMO. Ebron is a special talent. He's not your normal TE. He brings a whole other element to a team....he's a WR in a TEs body ...that's what a lot of teams are looking for nowadays. No way was he a luxury because he's not even close to the same player as Pettiigrew or Fauria.

A hobby? What a horseshit statement lol. It's a hobby because they didn't draft the player YOU wanted? Get a fn grip, buddy...cmon.
