Get StartedOh, ok lol. Good call, Mitch
You obviously thought the same if Ebron wasn't your pick at 10. Who did you want..
My guys were Mack, Gilbert, Watkins and Lewan. All gone except Lewan.

So Gilbert then..he would have helped the 'D'. So I would have taken him instead..we're on the same page.
Lewan was struggling so far per what I've read but improving. He won't start this year behind Roos and Oher in Ten. Doing the ole Riley Reiff routine.
You mean the guy who went 8th overall. Mitch fail. Mitch fail hard.
From what I've read Ebron is having his own issues as well. Many rookies struggle.
yup....running and catching is super tough for some people. especially top 10 picks....

Problem is that Ebron was the guy from the start because they knew Watkins was not going to be there. I guess the argument is whether he was the best available at the pick. ... They drafted best available, not by need. I think Denard or Gilbert were need picks to the Lions. Both were probably better as well... In my opinion. Oh well, we will see.If Dennard was the pick, and Ebron fell to the Ravens at 17 (which was a strong possibility as they quoted as much), would you be saying it was good that they drafted a guy who will earn a position in the secondary and likely lock it down for years, vs a luxury pick on a team that was already 3rd in passing yards? There are so many ways you can spin the draft pick to make it positive. Even you came out and said you were not happy with the pick, and reinforced that recently. There are much more pressing needs on this team. Another tight end was near the bottom of that list.
One would think after years of losing, time and time again, they would want to build a team / organization right. They don't because it's a hobby for them. And that's my general gripe about the way the Lions draft, it's been BPA for as long as I can remember. For me, it's okay to reach a few spots to fill a position that you are desperate to improve, rather than take a luxury (which Ebron is). Hopefully he works out and the Lions win.
