you aren't allowed to say that...some of the players only make $600K a year

Man, that Bret Barberie had to have been the most valueless and shameless player in MLB history.

After playing about five seasons in the bigs, with his salary topping at seven figures?the dude actually ended up COLLECTING alimony after he got divorced.

Nobody will win, at a time when the world and country is going through much tribulation still, baseball can help heal and revive. The fans on the whole won't care who is right and who is wrong they will only remember you did it to us again, the games overall health will not come out better for it on the other side.

I think as long as they are playing this summer, fans won't care that we missed some games in April/May

The owners do not care about the game or who plays it..that?s clear ?.they have consistently said no games will be played till May 1..it may be longer now ?it makes me sad.. look at the other sports the financial blueprint was always there.

The main reason to support the players? They are the only ones who are concerned about the quality of the product by addressing the increase in tanking, concern over dropping payrolls and the priority owners are putting on profits, not performance.

the latest proposal by the owners addressed tanking

Owner's recent proposal

Draft lottery for top 5 picks with equal odds for bottom 3 teams
teams that don't pay into the lottery system are ineligible to be in the lottery in consecutive years. Ineligible teams can't pick higher than 8th
Pre arb bonus pool $30M
Minimum salary starts at $700K raising to $740K over the course of the deal
international draft to make it more fair for all teams

Luxury tax threshold
2022 $220M
2023 $220M
2024 $220M
2025 $224M
2026 $230M

Not sure what isn't reasonable with this proposal

With games now lost, baseball in limbo as both sides determine next steps.

As a matter of transparency, every MLB owner should hold a press conference to explain their personal views on the CBA. It should include taking questions. Hiding behind the scenes and letting a commissioner who ultimately wields no power take the bullets is a form of cowardice.

Max Scherzer said the goal of the players union isn't to get more money in free agency, it's to get younger players paid better and earlier.
Worth noting that Max isn't likely to get any benefit from all this. Already signed. Nearing the end of his career (maybe).

Locked On Detroit Tigers Podcast: Locked Out Tigers + Ranking Detroit's Lineup Against the Rest of the ALC. 36 minutes.

MLB season is officially delayed as the Owners have cancelled the first week of the season. We break down everything that's happened in the last 48 hours. PLUS we rank the Tigers lineup compared to the rest of the American League Central Division.

I'm so tired of reading all of the articles and listening to all of the media spewing the players as the good guys and the owner's as the bad guys. Both sides consist of greedy assholes that are only looking out for themselves. Anyone who believes that the players are only looking out for the best interest of baseball are fools. That couldn't be further from the truth. The players are looking out for the best interest of the players...as they should.
