Mine has to be Spencer Torkleson appearing to figure things out at the plate.

I?m greatfull miggy finished his career as a tiger and didn?t retire way too early like Barry and Calvin

It has been a tough few years for Carson Kelly, as injuries and a lack of performance have sidetracked the career of the former top prospect and seeming breakout catcher during his days with the Cardinals and Diamondbacks.

Kelly signed with the Tigers after being released by the D?Backs in August, and the catcher will be staying in Motown as Jake Rogers? backup after the Tigers exercised their $3.5MM club option on his services for 2024.

With his immediate future now secure, Kelly tells Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press that the next step is to spend the offseason fixing his swing mechanics, as well as working on catching from a one-knee stance as opposed to a traditional crouch. ?It?s for stealing strikes at the bottom of the zone, and I?m already in a better position to block?.It just puts me in a better position to react to wherever the ball is,? Kelly said.

not a bad price, but a little old for my liking. I would have rather they went after Lorenzen again.

Tigers sign right-hander Kenta Maeda to two-year contract.

Gives the Tigers a much needed veteran presence.

First Japanese pitcher in Detroit since Hideo Nomo in 2002.

I have been hearing these rumors about the Tigers signed Kenta Madea hoping that it will help them in recruiting Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Not sure how much I buy into this rumor.

That said, how would you guys feel about signing Yoshinobu Yamamoto? It is rumored that he will get 8 years $200M.

Lot of money for an unknown. But high risk high reward kind of thing. But the Tigers can afford it. I put the % of signing him at 0% but one can hope.

I agree that it's high risk with the potential to be a high reward. I would not be in favor of them signing him. I was listening to some baseball show on MLB Radio and they said he is only 5'10" and about 175. Seems really small/slight.

I'm somewhat concerned about Maeda's innings, which conveniently averaged 5.0 innings per start in 2023.

I agree 100%. I was reading an article and that was a main point. The Tigers need some veterans that are inning eaters. He isn't that.
