Tigers 2024 Spring Training beginning 2 - 14

I see Jackson Jobe is pitching the 9th today. Good start and spring by Maeda. Today 4.0 IP, 2 BB, 1 H, 7 K.

statistically, players drafted out of high school have a lower success rate than those drafted out of college. Vegas odds indicate that Langford is the favorite to win ROY.
He won't as a DH though. Langford wasn't even drafted out of HS.. He's better prepared now but I see Clark with more upside. Much better defense and can run. He doesn't have the power but IMO he's the potential to be the better player.

right. Langford was drafted one spot behind Clark. I wanted Langford. It was reported that he was the most major league ready player in the draft. He isn't going to be a full time DH. He is supposed to split time between DH and the outfield, but the TX outfield is pretty stacked, so he may DH more than play LF. I do understand that Clark has the "tools", but he played against low end high school players. Langford dominated against the best league in the NCAA (SEC).

But did you really want another player who is a DH type? Don't we have enough of those already?

The Tigers sent Eddys Leonard down. They want him to work on his plate discipline. They are also moving him to work all 3 outfield positions this year. It's getting awfully crowded out there......

no kidding. I thought he was supposed to be a good SS.
