1 year deal, had a couple nice years in '14-'15. What else are the Tigers able to get? Kluber?

Last 3 years Away

5.18 ERA 1.42 WHIP 4.5 BB/G

He has lost velocity since 2014.

Let me guess...there is no such thing as a bad 1-year deal.

I'm asking who we going to get? Who comes here, to Detroit knowing we're a 60-65 win team?

Why do we need to go get people? We have a ton of young pitching coming. Not to mention 4-5 starters on the 40 man roster not including Fulmer, Norris, Zimmerman. Why carry so many starters only to throw money at guys like Moore and Ross? Why not see what we got from within and save the money? 1 year 6m, what's to gain? Player to be named later?

Ross pitched well for the Padres and was dirt cheap last year and they couldn?t get anything at the deadline for him. Still could be flipped this year but I wouldn?t expect anything of real value based on last years deadline. $6m seems pretty steep IMO.

Apparently they're not ready to bring anyone up. 6m seems cheap these days. Hell Billy Hamilton got 5.5 for some defense and speed. Horrible hitter.

Projected 2019 Payroll

BOS $240.0 Mil

NYY $177.8 Mil

HOU $154.4 Mil
LAA $140.0 Mil
SEA $134.4 Mil

CLE $121.8 Mil

TOR $116.1 Mil
TEX $111.1 Mil

DET $101.2 Mil

KCR $97.4 Mil
BAL $93.6 Mil

MIN $92.3 Mil

CHW $75.3 Mil

OAK $74.3 Mil

TBR $53.9 Mil

DET is #9 in AL in payroll and has already begun their rebuild.

KCR needed someone to patrol CF in Kaufmann. They are valuing that range more than the offense. They do not have anyone fitting that bill within reach, hence the Hamilton signing.

DET has at least 3-4 young arms that are as good if not better than Moore and/or Ross. We are impeding their development why? In hopes they can spin one of these guys for a mid to low level prospect? Which is basically the roster spot you vacated for these guys in the first place. Net sum gain = zero, but you paid $8 Mil to do it.
