Tigers vs. whitesox Game Thread Sept. 10

Hes good for 4 to 5 innings then sucks....everytime....for his entire career. He blows....

Porcello's ERA by inning: 1st ? 6.43; 2nd ? 2.00; 3rd ? 3.67; 4th ?; 3.71; 5th ? 4.68; 6th ? 6.27; 7th ? 8.22; 8th ? 6.75

No, he fell apart after 75 IP, like he always does.

Opponents have an OPS over .900 against Porcello after 75 pitches this year.

It's embarrassing the lack of stamina he has.

There would have been 2 outs if infante had not committed the error... Inning would have been a tad different.. You even know that..

Our problem is far deeper then 1 guy though.

Aside from Ajax, Cabrera, Fielder, and somewhat Avila....every hitter on this team has been terrible and incapable of drawing walks of pitchers with little command.

Add to that defense at all but CF has been well below average, and we need some major moves if we're going to do anything in 2013.

This is pretty much it. I know people hate Leyland and question him but with the exception of AJ, Miggy, Prince and maybe Dirks, every single other player who has worn a uniform this year has either underperformed (and many severely) or they are just flat out a lousy player who should not be in the majors. I don't care what batting order is out there each night, your going to struggle when you have to bat 3-6 shit bags every night. The best argument any of us can make is that this guy sucks a little less than that guy.

We ave 1-2 runs a game for the last month and consistently make crap pitchers look like aces, forgive me if I'm having a hard time blaming any of our pitching.

How many times does you pitcher have to get out of jams your fielders create.. I bet it is stressful. Rick did have Kornerko 0-2 though and that hurts..

Major overall needed in the off season, I'd like to see all the free swingers gone and replaced with guys that can work a count and decent defense to go with it.

Honestly does not matter about the error.

Pitcher still has his job to do even when things like that happen, and that was not the only trouble, cause the inning before he left 2 pitches up and they got hit deep, it was just a sign that he was losing the sinker.

That is ok... we sweep the next 3 and we are tied for first... Never give UP!!!!!!

I don't understand how anyone can be bitching about the pitching when we can't score more than 2 runs day in and night out, too crazy for me to comprehend.

But guys remember - Infante was finally the ANSWER to the constant nagging problem that 2nd base was, ever since Polance left...

Right?

Well that's the one thing this season has definitely exposed...that many of these guys are not major leaguers or should not be wearing a Tigers uniform next year. I think it's just too obvious and undeniable for them to ignore.

I won't give up until we're mathematically eliminated.

But I can smell the smoke even if I can't see the fire.

So your 5th starter should have been ahead 5-0 at this point of the game and you keep ragging on him.. The hitters are the ones to blame period...

That's what it will take now, nothing short of taking the next 3 will due, I don't have any confidence we can score more than 2 runs though.

Doesn't excuse Porcello's pathetic stamina.

He consistently falls about after 75 pitches.

Opposing batters are hitting .352/.418/.504 off Porcello from pitches 76-100 this year.

His K/BB is only 1.33 as well.

Time to move on, if he hasn't built up the stamina to pitch effectively past 75 pitches by this point, there's no reason to think he will.

I would expect Porcello to be part of a deal probably at the winter meetings. Even if he does well from here on out, it was always going to be either him or Scherzer getting moved in the offseason, and it won;t be Scherzer now.
