Get StartedOnly 12 of Stafford TDs were a result of him. The others were either great plays on the ball by the receiver or great play after the catch.
Some of the running TDs you give Stafford credit for too. He led alot of the drives. The majority of the TDS are mostly Stafford. You'll have to give specifics like I am prepared to do on the ints. Of course I know more about the specifics than you already I'm sure.
You could blame some of the picks on poor runs earlier in drives, drops (Ross drop leading to Calvin jump ball pick against Steelers) or poor ST/defense (last Ravens pick, Stafford should be kneeling the ball, not having to lead a come back).
5 of the Lions losses he didn't even throw a pick.
The Fauria tip toe catch in TE endzone. The bush 80 yard run after dump off. Calvin catch against multiple defenders.
You are also taking out the flat out drops be defenders.
Great throw too, great read to Bush on a check down, pin point accuracy and knowledge of your teammate. Both get credit on each of those.
All these throws are less than 5 yards (except throwing the CJ in triple coverage). Any QB in the league can make those. Any jump ball is more on the WR, if you say otherwise your implying The WR does not matter.
Pin point and Stafford? The only pin point throw was the one to Durham in the cowboy game down the sideline. That is throwing a guy open. That is what elite QBs regularly do. Once he starts making that throw a couple times a game we can start talking about Staff being a top 10 QB.
He can make any throw, once.
He made the same throw to Ogletree in the Cincy game and Steelers game (drop). Stafford makes a ton of good throws every game.
It's not just once. The majority of his throws are good. Talking 65-70%.
well if he makes good throws 65-70% of the time good QBs make good throws 75-80% of the time.
No .....other QBs don't have to put up the bullshit drop rate and lack of separaton that Stafford has had too the last 2 years.
other QB's don't have the best WR in the league so they can just "toss the ball into the air" and hope he makes a play.
4 of his 19 picks were read errors. Stafford is smart and has a ton of football knowledge and can read defenses well.
Don't blame the drop rate on Matt Stafford's inaccuracy. The guy had these issues at Georgia, this is not something new. If Calvin Johnson was replaced with a WR of average to decent talent, his numbers would be MUCH worse. I cannot count how many times Calvin has bailed this dude out when Stafford launches the ball 90 feet over his head.
"Negatives: Can get fundamentally lazy... ... Though he has an efficient overall release, should be able to speed it up for underneath screens passes to take better advantage of the surprise to the defense. ... Sloppy footwork. ... Will get lazy and throw off his back foot, which could lead to turnovers in the NFL... ... Willing to throw into tight spots, though more often than not he places the ball where it needs to be... ... Not great accuracy on crossing routes. ... Too often leads his receivers too far or forces them to reach back, slowing their momentum and limiting their ability to generate yardage after the catch."
