Trade Deadline Deals thread for Tigers

We get it, you?re smarter than everyone in the organization. You hate on every move they make. Why signing a minor league pitcher bothers you is beyond me.

You cut a guy for someone worse. You're welcome to differ. thanks.

The fact is that this guy is a lefty and has a pretty high K rate so you?d assume that there?s possibly some talent there. Saupold isn?t getting claimed so who the hell cares. Even if by a miracle he does get claimed, who the hell cares???

This is a total who cares move and you used it to once again grandstand about the organization not knowing dick. Just gets old to many of us is all.

A 29-year old reliever whose 2/3 of his MLB innings came last year (5.11 ERA 1.71 WHIP). He doesn't even get lefties out. You point to one lonely attribute and ignore all other metrics including age.

I can give a rat's ass about Saupold. The Tigers just changed seats on the Titanic. And your failure to see that or admit it speaks volumes.

The Dodgers have been scouting Tigers reliever Shane Greene, according to Cafardo. The 29-year-old Greene has pitched to a 4.19 ERA/3.98 ERA with 9.63 K/9, 2.3 BB/9 and a 43.5 percent groundball rate in 43 innings this season. He?s on a meager salary this year ($1.95MM) and scheduled to go through arbitration one more time.

the only thing you are leaving out in this equation is if nobody claims Saupold the Tigers get to keep him.

So if you are just changing deck chairs it isn't a net loss. But if you get to keep the other one, now you have 2 chairs on the sinking ship that is the Tigers organization.

And the Pirates thought there was no one stupid enough to claim Josh Smoker. And hence the issue...is another team as stupid as the Tigers to claim Saupold? And what if Saupold was on the Pirates being waived, odds are the Tigers claim him. We could play the "what if" game all day. In the end, it isn't about who they left exposed, it is they are claiming "non MLB" caliber players. And anyone who thinks Josh Smoker is MLB worthy, is smoking something strong.

anybody that thinks Saupold is MLB worthy is smoking the same stuff ;)

He?s been that way for years. I used to argue....but he?d cry to Kaline and I?d get a warning....so I quit.

I haven't given anyone a warning in years. More like asking posters to settle down, relax, and/or put the person on ignore.
