Welcome Back

He had good numbers. He played well. He can do that here one year later. That is all that matters. I'm not saying he is Joe Haden. Get it through your thick skull.

You compared them..douche. Why bring up Joe Haden's numbers, if you don't fully believe Florence plays at Haden's level? I bring up Haden facing number 1s, and you start getting defensive because you know I have a point and called you out on another one of your bullshit pff backed statements. If you want to compare numbers how could you not expect to be addressed with the level of competition comment? You ****ed up comparing them in the first place. Admit it, pff means nothing in cases like this

I compared their numbers. I didn't compare them as players. I never said Florence is as good a player as Haden.

The point was Florence had really good numbers. He was an asset for Carolina just last year. He can play well here.

You made up shit in your head that I said somthing. And now you are arguing with yourself about it.

Florence witah +7.6 coverage, low completion % and only 1 TD allowed in 600 snaps is a very good thing. Detroit should be happy they added that 2014 potential to their CB core.

I didn't. PFF did. They said they were the same in 2013.

You live and die by what pff writes, so yeah, you compared them from the beginning of this thread on. You posted the the thread, you brought up the pff comparison, and we're obviously comparing Florences numbers to the top corners in the game. Why compare players and numbers if you don't think the players are comparable. Once again, proof, that numbers DO lie

I never called him elite. I said he can be elite. Again it's a problem with you people making stuff up in your own head what I said.

Sorry for the delay. I was at lunch. I had french fries. They were supposed to cost 3.50, but i explained that 40% of the french fries shouldn't count, so the guy only charged me 2.10. Great day for me. Anywho...

Quick search uncovered this little beaut in the Caldwell's Staff thread, check Post #250...

3% drop rate is one thing. He had all his weapons in 2011 other than Best compared to 2013 (Burelson 7 games, solid 3rd WR all year, Pettigrew 2, Calvin 2+). There is your other 2%. 12 less passing TDs..hmmm 12 less turnovers forced by the defense, 8 more fumbles from others takes away opportunities. 20 of them.

You are not taking everything into context.

Stafford was elite in 2011 and elite in 2013 other than 4 games each season.

You called him elite in the last season in which he played. Does that make him an elite QB? Or did something happen in the offseason make him lose "elite" status?

PFF=A bunch of numbers that don't tell the whole story

Did I say the whole season. Nope. I said other than 4 games. The stats back me up very well. And clearly elite in 2011.

At this point I really hope you are a troll. Like hughes' alter ego or something. Or 12 years old. Otherwise I feel sorry for you.

I know more than all of you. I know it's hard for you to understand. You can't see the talent, the reasons why we lost in the past and many of you can't even understand what I say and jump to conclusions.

I feel sorry for all of you with your gloom and doom. This team is stacked and can win 10-11 games easily in 2014. If they don't, there will be a reason for it. A reason none of you know in advance.

No team in the NFL easily wins 10-11 games. 11 of the 32 teams won 10 or more games last year. If the Lions win 11 games, it'll be stunning, because I don't remember the last time they did that.

And when they did hit the 10 win plateau, they got steamrolled in the playoffs.

They didn't get steamrolled. Closer than score indicated and lots of secondary injuries allowing Brees to go off in second half.

And 11 wins with the level of talent they have and great coaching will be easy. 11 wins is the most probable. Other scenarios can happen but everyone should be on the 11 win train.

I can see the talent, I just haven't seen the wins.

And all I have are LKP's assurances that they'll win 10-11 games.

Prove it on the field, because this back and forth is pointless.

That's why I don't put any stock into the oodles of supposed talent on this team. Tons of teams have talent. That's why there is so much parody in the league.

We have oodles of great coaching and good schemes too. And lots of player leadership too. This team can be special this year.

Oodies of great coaching =

A head coach when previously the HC for Indy often looked like a deer caught in headlights.

First-time O and D coordinators. They may end up being good, but guess what -- you can't play the potential card on this one.

Great aggressive creative minds. Plus plenty of experience at the position coach spots too. Former DCs even to help Austin.

Caldwell was a winner in Indy and Baltimore. He helped make Peyton Manning great and he got them to the Super Bowl as as a first year head coach too plus the playoffs the next year.

The coaching is unknown at best...calling it bad or great is just guessing. Two first-time NFL coordinators and a head coach with 2 years of NFL HC experience, one year with the best QB in the game, the other year involved management tanking the season.

You can see their plan and style and leadership ability. Caldwell is proven good in this league. Lombardi and Austin were great hires. It will put us over the top.
