Jets were already in field goal range and could have spiked the ball making it 3rd down. They still could have run that 18 yard play after that and there still would have been plenty of time for a time out.

But it was a dumb move. We'll see if he makes it again.

The balt game, no time out so time ran down, fg with 38 seconds left then Stafford showed us why we take a knee at half with 2 timeouts.

time left and down is a big factor too. Schwartz calls a TO and he gives Stafford 1:30 left to attempt a GW drive. Something a franchise qb should do

But he let the clock run out and BAL kick a GW FG.

Exactly, I remember people ripping him and I was one, but it sounds like caldwell called the TO to try and give peyton time but the D didn't hold em to save time. I guess the only way not to get ripped is to win lol.

When you see Peyton's reaction you see it was a dumb timeout. And his explanation made no sense, he wanted the other team to run as many play as possible.

there was only 30 sec left....even with peyton manning that's a lot to ask.

WTF, what an embarrassment. They didn't have an internal scouting database? What the hell did they have before a bunch of spiral notebooks and cocktail napkins. Lemme guess a youtube channel full of Mayhew's favorites. Wow this is where losing comes from people, this is how you lose consistently for 50 years.

To many times I have seen break downs on this board or ones I have written myself about players who ended up going in the 3 to 4 round and end up being studs. I am convinced NFL scouting is the easiest job on earth because I literally can do it with my laptop at home. I don't need to even leave my recliner. And yet every year teams mess it up. It should be embarrassing to them but really just shows I am wasting my limited free time looking this stuff up.

ya I remember mocking Navarro bowman to us in the 3rd rd years back......sigh....if only I was GM....

Yea I had us going for Bowman too. What a shame. I mocked us Forte but we went Kevin Smith. In 2010 I said Kam Chancellor and Alterraun Verner would be a good 3rd and 4th round pick. Instead we traded up for Best and took Spievey in the 3rd. Now those two guys have both been to pro bowls and Spievey well you know. Also they both went after our pick in the 3rd.
