Computers still love Michigan

12 pages? This thread is about Michigan doing well in the advanced stats. There isn't a problem to resolve. Your own thing, however you want to describe it, didn't start on page 1.

Come on, man. He's trying to boost his troll stats and take credit for this entire thread.

I'm detecting a little jealousy from spartahack and sbee over the length of our game threads here on this board.

Yeah, length does matter. The Michigan board threads are HUGE! Sparty is not so well endowed. I am sure this makes them feel uncomfortable when they come over to our board.

You say it isn't true, then you point out that Michigan got the ball down 7 with 1:40 left on the clock. Yes, they did not move the ball, but what I said was true. They had the ball down 1 TD with a chance to drive and tie the game. Plenty of teams come back and score 1 TD in less than 1:40. Michigan didn't do it, but that doesn't change that the situation was there.

We actually did move the ball to our own 45. Completed a short four yarder to Perry on first down and then a 16 yard completion to him again on 2nd. Threw incomplete to Gentry on 1st down and then the fumble happened.

Plenty of teams have gone 55 yards in less than 46 seconds.

The fact that he thinks garbage time equals pulling within one score with 2:50 left on the clock and all three of our timeouts is pretty special.

Ah, ND won because they got lucky to be up 3 scores - athletes don't make plays against uofm, they get lucky. your understanding of football is some next level stuff bob.

yeah, that D adjusted just in time to give up a 75 yard TD drive to go down 3 scores. it adjusted so well, they cut the scoring in half every quarter, when ND didn't need to score.

Just a few points, 1) it is silly to say that ND "took their foot off the pedal", "played conservative", or "didn't need to score". In the actual game time play neither team knew whether or not it didn't "need" to score. If you are a coach/team and you think you no longer "need" to score, then you are not a good coach/team. Anything can happen in a game. I refer you to the last 1:40 of the 2011 Michigan/ND game or the blocked punt in the Michigan/MSU game a few years back. A seasoned coach/team knows better than to think they don't "need" to score until they have a substantial lead, are in the final seconds of the game, and have the ball. Then the classy thing to do is to go into the victory formation. 2) It is not "luck" when a touchdown is negated due to a legitimate penalty. Like an ineligible receiver down field, holding, etc. These are the rules of football. The touchdown ND scored that was negated was the correct call. If it hadn't been negated, then that would have been "lucky" for ND or perhaps just homecooking. 3) There was no "garbage time" in the Michigan/ND game. Neither team played that well. ND played better than Michigan in the first half and in the end won the game. A one score win is not domination. For an example of "garbage time" and domination I refer you to last Saturday's game at the Big House, and hopefully the game in EL this coming Saturday.

this is what you said...

Yet Michigan had the ball down 7 in the final 5 minutes with a chance to drive and tie...It was a one score game.

so it's technically true but highly misleading - they also had the ball down 14 in the final 5 minutes, didn't get it to a 7 point game until just over 2 minutes and didn't get the ball w/in 7 until the 1:40 mark. That statement demonstrates a lack of understanding what the actual situation was. There's a big difference between being down a score with 5 minutes, 4.5 minutes, 4 minutes, even 3 minutes than 1:40.

And none of that changes the fact that you got outplayed badly.

you got me again. definitely worth pointing out - it's as bad if someone had said uofm was 1 of 2 50/50 balls away from winning at nd.

hey, if it makes you and gulo happy, I'm totally fine only getting troll credit for triggering butt hurt wolverine fans after page 3 or whatever. I only want credit for what the stats indicate I've earned.

"This post contradicts what you said" or however you worded it, is no more insightful than "No it didn't." You used more words, but made no point.

u indicated nd fans or at least one saw it the way bob did. I disagree, that fan didn't chalk it up to luck - he or she said nd receivers made plays and bailed him out.

When did I say anything about Bob?

so we've devolved to dick jokes? your big threads are so intimidating. What are you 15?

I did say something about luck. And when an ND fan says we should have had 2 picks, that means they were lucky we didn't.

Or, since you saw those drives, you should know those were very improbable catches.
