Fairley demoted to second team defense

Might change my mind if CJ were to go down this year, cuz we would have those 2 solid receivers in Tate and Broyles. Btw, Broyles is going to play no less than 14 games this year, I'm calling it.

Cj goes down I guarantee people on here say stafford didn't have enough to be successful.

Lions starters missed 41 games. Only 19 other teams have missed more. Sure that's more than half the teams not the point. 13 of those we're related to James Jones. He is the corner stone of the defense.
Also Chris Houston missed time he is probably the best corner in the league.... Wait he was cut? Great move Mayhew.. We are better off without Houston.

People will make excuses for stafford if Fauria misses a game. If CJ goes down they will want to give stafford an extension if they win 4 games.

I will actually defend the half game in Bush's case, it made a big difference in the 2nd half of a winnable game in Arizona.

Calvin only played half the snaps against cleveland and the Giants. He did miss half games.

The Giants game is irrelevant. Season was done at that point.

He didn't get as many snaps vs Cleveland because they didn't need him to. If Detroit wasn't beating the shit out of the Browns like the were (game wasn't as close as the score even indicated) he would've been out there despite the knee.

Try again.

Lol love this post.

Only 19 other teams! Lol

But we had concentrated injuries....you know cause concentrated really encompasses wr, cb, rt, de, s.....super concentrated

The running game looked awful that entire game whether it was Bush in the 1st half or Bell in the 2nd half. The game was winnable for sure, but I don't think having Bush makes that big of a difference.

I have a hard time with that because Bush only ran 9 for 25 in the fast half. His receiving yards were 44 but it's not like he was smoking. If I blame anything it was the play calling. Stafford played well but the offense was non existent and the defense fell apart.

69 total yards in a quarter and a half, he was fairly active in the passing game up to that point (3 catches, 44 yards). Was injured halfway through the 2nd quarter after making a big catch on 3rd down deep in Lions territory to extend a drive that eventually led to a TD.

Bush would have fumbled twice in the 2nd half....completely making up for anything he did good in the first half. Were lucky he got injured when he did.

All I'm saying is it's a bit sad that Bush for a half a game is make or break. And if we can't score in the 2nd half BECAUSE of Bush we got bigger problems.

Ya ....stafford....dont you remember your previous 10000 stafford sucks posts?

He was supposed to be a big addition to the offense going in, it was early and we could assume they were game planning around Bush being a dual threat out of the backfield. Losing that early in the 2nd game is tough.

Having an important offensive piece injured will lead to scoring troubles.

Funny thing is everyone essentially agrees stafford was average at best. Some can admit it, some make so many excuses on why he couldn't succeed they actually insult him more.

Great players are great, CJ puts up great numbers because he is great. He gets his if there are five other weapons on the field, or if he is the only one out there.

I suppose so. Then maybe their game plan was messed up because they had no back up plan. But you still had CJ and no points. It was more than Bush.

Perhaps, but is it possible that Bush could've been the 4 point difference? I think so. Bush played well up to that point, hard to lose him. It's one thing to go into a game without a playmaker, it's another to lose one in the middle of the game.

Peterson on Calvin. Three three and outs not all on Stafford. Some pressure allowed, bad run game. One less drive than Arizona due to Levy pick 6. One FG drive that was blocked. Last drive, Stafford completed on 3rd and 4th, Burleson didn't do enough to get the first.
