Game 15: Lions @ Bears Thread

at one point we had 6 drives in bears territory and 10 points.
2 ints in the red zone
1 botched punt return
1 boneheaded penalty after another
and lets notforget we will have yet another national story on how pathetically unsportsmanlike our team is.

....i don't see how that equates to us beating what we used to be. on the contrary...we beat a shitty team with a 1-9 qb that dropped like 9 passes. 9 drops is a true win in LKPs book....

if you guys think we can hold teams to under 20 points a game in the playoffs this year ....

...you just keep thinking that I guess is all I can say.

Only thing that matters is the W, whether they win 2-0 or 50-49 or 100-0....only the W matters.

Both staff and Clausen were 22-39. Staff had more yards, Clausen more TDs, Staff more sacks and INTs, Clausen better rating, BUT....

Staff had more W's at the end of the game, 1-0...and that is the only stat worth really noting.

Tom Brady had a lower rating today than Geno Smith. But he got the W. Nothing else matters.

keep telling yourself that. in reality this W meant nothing. the only thing it did is paint a negative picture on the lions. Trust me no one will be talking about how they gutted out another win.....everything will be about how they need to play better, mistake free football and that were a bunch of retarded thugs that stomp on people.

Meant 11-4 and maintaining #2 seed. Brady's ugly win meant earning BYE week for Pats.

Only the W matters, and they mean EVERYTHING. Only way to win the Super Bowl is to get the W, and several QBs have done that with some fugly play... but they still got the W.

W trumps all. Period. You cannot argue that, it is indisputable.

This offense isn't good enough to win in the playoffs, that's all were saying guys. How this doesn't worry you guys is beyond me. We're struggling to put up points against terrible teams. Zero consistency on offense heading into the playoffs scares the hell out of me.

For a team yes. For judging individuals no.

You think Pats and their fans are sitting on high horse in judgment of Brady?

Quit bitching and be thankful for the win.
Lions O could have negative yards, but if the team wins 2-0 then it is still a W. NOTHING else matters. Get it? Good!

Next week is a new game, all prior stats mean shit on that game other than the Ws and LS, nothing else is important. Same goes with the end of the game, doesn't matter what stats happen during the game, the team with the W is #2 seed and gets the BYE.

Plenty of teams have won with their defense in spite of their offense struggles. They CAN win, only question is WIlL they? We won't know that till the game is played, but if they win despite poor offense, I'm sure the pissers will continue pissing instead of celebrating.

Despite bad penalties and turnovers...this is a game the Lions of last year would have found a way to lose. Divisional games on the road are very seldom won in a pretty fashion. I'm still one of those guys who will take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day.

We have a shot at a division win and possibly a 1st round bye. And still bitch bitch whine whine on this thread.

Think of last season. 4 of final 5 games vs. losing teams and they pissed it away. They've WON those games this year. It's a new era in Motown, IMO...

This team can beat anyone and lose to anyone. Are they perfect now. But they may be the best lion team in 20 years or more.

We are still one of the best 12 teams in the league. If we can somehow win next week that puts us into the final 8. At the startb of the year we all would have taken 11-5.

I'm starting to think some would bitch if this team was 15-0 with a 750-0 PF-PA, 15,000 yards of offense while giving up 15, and a plus 150 turnover margin.

Yes a win matters I get that.

If Lions continue to play like they did against the Bears and win the Super Bowl, I'll be happy.

It's not hard to look at the way they are playing and think do they have a chance to beat Cowboys, Seattle, Green Bay and New England all in a row. Three of those games on the road?

Personally I don't think that is likely to happen playing the way they did against the Bears, but hey it's a new week. So technically it could happen.

Your whole argument is what exactly? You can't use prior events to project what you think will happen in the future? I'm pretty sure there are a whole lot of places that make some money based on projecting what will happen and giving odds on what they think will happen.
