Mayhew blows...all these high round picks year after year after year and we have a 4 win team to show for it and 0-6 in the division. Xanders is here to turn it around with his first draft and FA period under his belt. Things are looking up already.

Love how Hughes covers his bases...for now 2013 is Xanders' draft...until Hughes wants to slam it end of year, tell us all how the Fla State tackle should have been #5 overall, and because a sixth round pick doesn't make all pro WR right out of the box, said pick has no future for growth, and blames it all on Mayhew.

All under the guise that he's a "realist."

Called it how I saw it with spievey best levy titus and was right. Hated the leshoure and broyles picks because they were high round picks we lost value on and weren't immediate needs...they've produced a grand total of zero so far. Broyles has a shot now to make a mark....I hope he "shuts me up." Reiff pick I only slammed when we decided to play him at fullback when 3/5s of the line sucked ass last year. If your not going to use people....don't pick them in round 1.

I say im a realist cause I call it how it is. Last year we were a bad team that had problems getting people to produce from drafts and were getting nothing in FA. This year we had a draft that fit immediate needs and those players should get a tremendous amount of playtime barring major injury. Im somewhat excited to see how the defense pans out. The new look dline could be exciting to watch the the rebuilt secondary could be much improved if Delmas can ever get on the field. Linebackers corps as a group are horrid with Tulloch being the only one worth mentioning. The offense will be exciting if Stafford doesn't end on his ass every play. A better mix of run pass would be nice but I don't really see it happening with reggie bush and our oline. Reggie will be a monster in the passing game and might catch 200 passes this year since Staffs favorite routes are quick reads under 6 yards.

Mayhew actually did something in FA this year....odd its the same year Xanders gets here.....how weird is that?!

Xanders wouldn't spend a 5th and a 4th on whitehead just so he could cut his 5th round pick from the year before (Hogue) just so whitehead could play cheerleader.

I have to somewhat agree with Mayhew has been bad with his drafts. Its easy to pick guys in the 1st half of round 1. Call it injuries, bad luck or whatever you want - round 2 and past its been bad.

If you think our oline doesn't have ?????s all over it your frikken mental. 2 backups from last year starting, a rookie, Crayola, and sims. Easily the weakest group in the division. The division we went 0-6 in last year. They need to step up huge for us to be competitive. Sure reiff can be better than backus....that's not saying that much...I just hope hes as consistent. Crayola will have to be good for the first time in his career. Sims is solid. Warlord can easily be better than Peterman. And fox sucks. A lot of things have to go right for this group to help steer the ship in the right direction.

I never said our Oline was fixed...lol. I thought we were talking about Reiff. Im not as worried about our LT situation like i am the rest of the line. I like Warford, anything is better than Peterman. Sims is solid, but Fox, Hilliard gives me nightmares. And Raiola sucks balls. That right side scares me the most because we have a rookie and an unknown starting there.

Your rebuttles are dumber. CHI had the only line that was worse than ours last year. They made changes for the better along the line this off season. We downgraded and still have raoila. havent been bad overall?....what, you watched them play on otas?

I knew Reiff was starting regardless at either LT or for sure RT. Thats a fact.

And CHI got better with the Bushrod signing but the Kyle Long pick was terrible IMO. How did they get so much better? Cutler will get killed again this year......sheed!!

But youre not a realist...youre delusional at times. Leshoure running for 800+ yards and scoring a handful of TDs is called PRODUCING. All after hurting himself and missing a couple of games, basically in his first year. You bash his YPC and make fun of him because a UDFA played well at times. Thats fn retarded, man. Thats all you got? lol

And Backus was our LT and Cherilus played out of his mind at RT. All in a contract year (fuck him..btw). Its ok that Reiff didnt 'get on the field' his first year. The Lions arent the only team ever to ease a first round pick into the mix. You need to realize this....

Leshoure sucks Donkey wang. The guy ran every play against nickel D. They lost 2 games in particular (9ers, Bears in Chi) because we couldn't run the ball when they played 5 on 5 up front. Not that our stellar mauling oline helped.

Young did produce when not insane, especially in 2011.


LeShoure produced as well with 9 TDs and a solid YPC (4.0) before his groin injury coming back from his achilles injury. Giving up on LeShoure is just stupid. Trent Richardson had a shit YPC too.


Broyles had numbers like Randall Cobb his rookie year on limited targets. He has the most potential to be a very reliable target for Stafford that can also get some YAC. 800 yards and 6 TDs for Broyles this year.

Delmas is a good safety when healthy no denying that.


It's not Mayhew's fault they got hurt. 3 of those 4 (Young) and Fox/Bentley are going to do some good things this year for Detroit. And Best was the right call at the time with his talent and how badly the Lions needed playmakers in 2010.


Mayhew is one of the better drafters in the league.
