Miguel Cabrera Triple Crown Watch

It sure would be a dick move if Hamilton has 2-3 HRs in the next two days.

DP for cokehead. hopefully miggy has a homer and a few more hits tomorrow.

Texas A's game is at 3:30, Angels Mariners game is at 6:40, with the exception of 1 or 2 of trouts at bats, the triple crown will be decided by tomorrows 8:10 start, that is if miggy's average doesn't go down of course.

Is it mathematically possible for trout to catch Miggy in ba?

5-5 For Trout might not even do. Depends whether Hamilton hits the long ball. I was hoping Texas would have won tonight and then rested Hamilton tomorrow.

Yes, 5-5 day from Trout tomorrow puts him at .3297682, 6-6 would be .3309608

Cabrera is .3290322, meaning if he does not play or get an AB Trout needs to go at least 5-5 to beat him, but still can.

If Cabrera gets any AB's he needs to record positive hits, 1-2 would be .3295819 and leave him vulnerable, assuming Trout is perfect 5-5.

If Trout makes an out or gets walked at all tomorrow, it's Miggy's to lose.

It's going to be close.

thanks, looks like miggy could use a couple hits tomorrow then.

Miguel Cabrera has 64 multi-hit games this season, tied with Derek Jeter for most in MLB.

Miguel Cabrera since August 1: .348/.414/.676 with 19 HR and 54 RBIs in 56 games.

Trout goes 4/4 = .32857, Cabrera goes 0/4 = .32852. 0 for 3, he's safe. 1/4= .33012.
Trout 5/5= .32976.
1 hit, it's over. Under 4 AB, it's over.

just sit Beast, no way does he get caught... but we know Miggy wants to play.

one HUGE thing Beast has going in his favor, the Angels game starts at 6:40 and the Rangers game should already be over before we even start (3:35 game). so if Hamilton doesn't get a Hr, then Beast can just concentrate on base hits. and by the Angels playing at 6:40 it lets Miggy know where he sits in the Batting Race.

I didn't know that, that is awesome, so we'll likely know before game time. It's simple really, sit him, unless Hamilton has hit 2 HRs, then play him all game. He has about a 98% chance of the triple crown as he sits right now, wow!!!

I haven't been this pumped for an individual achievment since Barry broke 2000 yards. This is truly historic and I think it's still being understated. Even casusal fans know the last triple crown was in 1967, that's more than they know about World Series Champions. Quickly, who won the World Series in 1967? 1973? etc. Don't know off the top of my head, but I know Yaz won the tiploe crown in 1967 5 years before I was even born.

Not sure they rounded up or not but I checked 3 places and Miggy was at .331. Even if they did (rounded up), he'd be above .330. Where'd you get 3290322?

some people are downplaying the triple crown in this era of sabermetrics but there is no question what miggy is doing is indeed a special and rare feat.

in just about any other season miggy wins the MVP easily.

IMO, the only ones down playing it are Mike Trout supporters.

I don't see how anybody could down play getting the triple crown....just how I can't see how anybody can down play how spectacular Trout has been this year.
