Next Lions Coach

Personally I think Cle is the more attractive job. Great defense, good offensive weapons, and a chance to go get "your guy" at qb if youre not a stafford fan. Not handicapped by 3 huge contracts either. In a division with a regressing bal, rapelisburger on his last legs, and cin.
why would player contract status matter to a coach? they don't deal with any of the finances, so this is a moot point.

other than that, you might have a point if we weren't talking about Cle.

15 million cap number Stafford, 13 million cap number for Calvin and Suh's number will be changed (lowered) with an extesnion. Not as bad as you think.

Burleson going to be cut or pay. 4 million or 5 million more.

And they'll re-work Delmas or maybe just get rid of him.

Tulloch, Quin, Houston and Bush all have restructure potential too.

Lions cap is under control.

You don't know what I think. The cap is high for all 3..

If you know there is no room to add a big FA I think cap issues are worrisome..

Financial capacity to shape their team to their liking? Most coaches do that....ours watched videos of best on youtube.

that's great... i want to win the Mega Millions, but it's not going to happen.

we're not getting Cowher...

i remember last year a report saying he may be interested in returning. I dont have a link though sorry. and you'd have to admit these 3 would be great if we had them all

Stafford is a product of the coach. It's obvious by seeing them interview him after the firing. He was clueless just like schwartz. They need a coach that IS somebody.

Who has any faith that the Lions will get the right man for the job with their track record of derailment? Not me.

They're bound to hire a good coach by accident one of these years, right?

Maybe but still can't get away from the drunk President, senile owner, and the silver-spoon son.

Looks like Lovie Smith has Jeff Tedford as his OC lined up. Tedford coached Rodgers but also Joey Harrington.

Can Tedford fix Stafford with Lovie running the D?

Fix, I thought there was nothing wrong - that he was as good as Philip Rivers..

Not much wrong. You seem to think he needs fixing so I threw that out there.

I'm fine with 23 TDs and 8 ints in a 10 game span. We'll see if he has another 5 game swoon next year.

Great, you're okay if he stunk it up for half a season as long as he was 23-8 in the other half. The Lions, where mediocre is okay.
