Petti

can't negotiate without the agent, who was just recently hired... calling someone a POS over a situation he had zero control over is pretty ignorant on your part... then again, it's just par for the course for you and your hatred from Meyhew.

he said it...not me. What moron GM says the deal is going to get done when the player doesn't even have an agent. How does he not have control over the stupid shit that comes out of his mouth? Par for the course for you to make this about me and not make any sense of the topic at hand.

estimated restructure if it happens is may? it takes him 2 months to get anything done? what kind of shitty gm takes 2 months to get an extension done while FA has already started?

All they do is overpay, it takes two months to do that?

He said:
?If it doesn?t get done, we?re fine with that,? Mayhew said. ?We can create some space and we can get some room right now.

What about the other part where he says he expects it will get done by the beginning of the league year?

That was at the combine and if Suh got an agent quickly enough. He also referenced staff and cj saying if they started negotiating in time it could be done before or during FA just like with those guys, then he followed it up by saying it didn't matter because they had the space to get the guys they wanted and could find space else where if need be. pretty much he referenced everything that could happen but some focused on part of it and took it as gospel.

Both quotes were said at the same time. You just focused on the other part and took it gospel. Mayhew playing it off like it doesn't matter doesn't make it true.

He said everything just showing that once again some people focus on the negative.

if you tell a fanbase you expect it to get done prior to the league year....then its not. Its not me being negative. It actually has nothing to do with me. It has to do with mayhew once again not doing anything....

how do you know he's not doing anything? you're not in Allen Park. you don't have a bug on his office phone.

things change all the time. you just like to point out when things aren't done to your level of (unrealistic) expectations

He said he expects it to get done not that it will be done. Then he followed it by saying it didn't matter as far as FA goes. It's not like we missed out on some franchise changing FA because it didn't get done.

We did nothing to upgrade this team in fa....again ....we have no space to upgrade this team the rest of fa. If it "doesn't matter" then quit so we can get a real gm.

We didn't do a lot, but getting Golden Tate is a definite upgrade over any other #2 WR we had before. If we're able to sign a decent safety, like Ihedigbo or Clemons, I'd be content with free agency. We didn't start free agency with a lot of cap room. The draft is going to be the main determinant if this offseason was a good or bad one.

could have done more with the money we had. peppers + nicks would have been way better than tate + Pettigrew.

Tate averages 6 million a year on his new contract, while Nicks gets 5.5 million for 1 year. If you're just comparing those two, I think an argument could be made that signing Nicks for that contract would've been better, although he's been very inconsistent the last 2 years while struggling with injuries and drops.

But there's no way that Peppers is going to sign for an average of 4 million a year like Pettigrew did. So saying Peppers+Nicks is better than Tate+Pettigrew is probably true, but the salaries for Peppers+Nicks are going to be at least 2 million more than Tate+Pettigrew, if not more. And then we'd have to draft a starting safety and tight end (which would take 2 of our first 3 picks).

Peppers and Nicks will be on shorter deals with larger cap hits. Tate and Pettigrew together will be a 5.3M cap hit. Nicks is at 3.5M and you know that Peppers will have a cap hit wherever he signs of at least tripple 1.8

It doesn't matter about suh cause they can create space other ways if needed. Suh will get a new deal and any space created will either be used on a june 1st cut to fill a hole we couldn't in the draft or rolled over into next years cap. Suh isn't killing our free agency.

If that is the case then why are they going after Vet Minimum players? After Tate every onther player that has visited is a player that will be paid near the vet minimum.

Everyone says they can create this cap space if they want, I argue they would have done it already before the start of free agency.

In my opinion it is all low level players untill Suh does his deal then they may pick up a few summer cuts and thats it.

ya, he didn't do that either. Theres a shit ton of things he could be doing, I agree. But were basically the same team as last year. He decided to resign his guys....if he thinks that's good enough....more power to him....but hes wrong.

people thought I was nuts when I said nicks would get a 1 year "prove it" affordable deal.....and that's what he got. Peppers should get the same.....the over 30 DE market is not what it once was.....see john Abraham or Dwight freeney that had to wait forever to get a deal and he got a 1 year deal worth peanuts. Sure...it only takes 1 team to overpay for someone like peppers....but the "market" for him is right around 5 mil per.

If Justin Tuck got 5.5 per year, Peppers will get more
