I suspect it hurts recruiting a bit.
Probably not as much as going 2 for your last 20 against your "rival".

We held them to 40 yards less than Rice did.Army did the same thing to Oklahoma last year, lets not overreact to things. Michigan actually held Army to one of it's lowest total yards numbers in recent memory.
My bigger concern is how bad the offense is for short yardage situations. Why the hell are we in the shotgun on 3rd and 4th down short yardage? I get it we have a new offense, but you're trying to tell me that we can't keep a couple short yardage plays with the QB taking the snap under center.
He can't read zone defense very well and if the first read is covered, it's trouble. Not great, Bob.The D was just fine today. Other than a couple of blown plays, that's about all you can do against a team that runs it 95 percent of the time. I thought they acquitted themselves just fine today.
The O line was good. Gave Shea a ton of time.
This all falls on playcalling and the QB. And I just don't think Patterson is any good.

Defensive scheme was ridiculous most of the day... huge gaps, lb shaded to the weakside all day making it easy to run strong side. Just plain simple things they did dumb.

Yep, time to give the keys to Dylan. He'll have some growing pains, but he's the future of this program.
but can he throw the football? We have yet to see it.
Yet Harbaugh keeps bringing in top 10 classes. Weird!!
Whats frustrating is the growing pains for the offense and just overall sloppy play that results from missing or not knowing assignments. This team will get better but we gave ourselves no easy games. Mtsu is a good team and army has consistently been a tough game under this current regime. We cant afford to continue go be sloppy and the playcalling has gotta get better. The dline needs to get better at the tackle position but this team will be fine. Just gotta get back to work. Also...they need to bring back some under center stuff. This short yardage play calling is abysmal.
