To everyone who says Ebron can be like Graham

Are you sure? While watching the coverage, literally the split second after that pick was made at 9, the Lions logo came up on the screen, and IMMEDIATELY changed to "Pick is in."

You have no idea what calls they were making or not making. NONE. All speculation on your part....

Which most of this is. I can't argue that. But with the way this franchise is, it would not surprise me if they fell in love with someone (Ebron), stuck to the flawed BPA system, and really didn't give a damn about hearing other people's offers.

Watching NFL AM and Ian Rappaport reported that the Lions were waiting to see if Watkins would slide to #5. Buffalo jumped ahead and took Watkins at #4. Apparentley, the Lions weren't willing to give up a #1 next year...smart move.

Yeah that's fine with me, I wouldn't have been thrilled with them burning a future 1st rounder for Watkins. I wanted secondary help the whole way. I just have big trouble accepting the fact that this team threw for the 3rd most yards in the NFL, and continues to want to build that. It makes no difference if they go from 3rd to 1st in passing yards, the help is needed elsewhere. Even after a day to digest this pick, I'm still really upset about it.

how could they....they turned the card in in less than 20 sec. you can barely get a phone to ring in less than 20 sec. they didn't make any calls...

the same argument I made for golden frikken tate instead of getting defensive help. The debate I got back was "no one on defense wanted to come here" lmao. the blind mayhew backers will continue to not see the obvious and continue to cheer for mediocrity.

This would be slightly easier to digest if the team didn't resign Pettigrew. But they did. And they still have Fauria. And they are still void of talent in the secondary.

are you seriously insinuating that they can only negotiate a trade during the 10 min that they're on the clock?

hughes, i know you hate Mayhew with an very strange and unhealthy passion, but this is one of the most idiotic things i've ever heard you say.

When they turned in their pick so fast it felt like them saying, "this is the guy we wanted all along after Watkins."

I think Hughes was obviously exaggerating that Mayhew had never made any calls beforehand. But the point is, situations change after every pick. Why the heck would Mayhew turn in his pick immediately when he had 10 minutes to make some final calls to see if they could trade back.

are you seriously insinuating that they new who would still be on the board at the time they picked? Mayhew can predict the future? Wow...then he should be able to predict that his team sucks and start to do something about it...

I have a reason to hate mayhew....and he reaffirms it every year by putting out a shit product. Now your strange and unhealthy passion for me is quite disturbing. Everytime I post you go on some dramatic, weird rant about how its the new "dumbest post ive ever written." get over it lucke...Im married with a kid....its not going to happen. I suggest you move to san fran...and eat a bunch of dicks.

in order for Ebron to be like Graham, you have to have a quarterback like a brees or a manning or a brady. he is a good player no doubt but the Lions are in desperation need of three starters on defense. we blew it on day one. we should have taken Donald At number 10. We have been trying to put weapons around Stafford ever since we drafted him and look what we have to show for it, nothing. this organization continues to be inept, uninformed, and misleading. all their trying to do is sell vehicles and seats. sure, we may be more dynamic offensively but will solely rely on outscoring the opponent. in the event that they get lucky and make the playoffs, their departure will be swift as solid defense wins championships.

You have to admit you laughed at the collective "fuck you jdeb" posts when we picked ebron lol.

You guys are being silly. Ebron will be like jimmy graham if he was picked in rd 3, underpaid, catches 100 balls, scored 14 tds and Lombardi is as smart as Sean Payton. All of that is laughable....we'll be lucky if ebron is half of a jimmy graham.

I did and I loved it. I called that crap before anyone even started to mention him. I have been a real fan fir too many years. Bears are going to superbowl.

Someone on the radio brought up a good point. Ebron is like 3 inches shorter than Graham. That's a HUGE difference. I don't know why Graham was the immediate comparison brought up, especially when the guy himself says he's nothing like him.

I am not knocking the player. I'm sure he's an excellent TE/WR player that could do big things for the team. But, they continually ignore areas of need, and sometimes you have to not worry about having so many shining toys on offense, and focus on parts that, you know, actually need improving.

Oh weird...another post draft failed mayhew trade attempt story.....ya we get one of those every year.
