Youre the GM

And the funny things is people giving the Bengals all this credit. Ravens and Steelers somehow super tough when they play the Bengals, but somehow they were part of the Lions super easy schedule. at Philly who finished red hot with Foles in a blizzard is somehow super easy too.

Giants finished 7-3 after an 0-6 start. Detroit would have clobbered the Giants early in the season.

Even the Bucs weren't the same team but turnovers cost us big in that one. That is the only easy game I'll give you.

8-4 Steelers finish, 5-3 Ravens, 9-3 Eagles finish, 7-3 Giants finish. Bucs i midst 4 out of 5 when they played the Lions. They weren't the Weeks 1-4 versions.

That's how I fucking proved it.

Fine. But the Lions still should've been able to pull out at least one win between those 4 games. And they didn't...

They lost to the 4 win Vikings with some running back named Bennihana and half their defense out. They literally shit the bed. If that's what they do against "hot" teams I'm glad we didn't make the playoffs the 9ers would have blown us out of the stadium.

It shouldn't be amplified as worse because they were playing "bad" teams. At the time, those teams were not playing badly. Lions had turnover issues against solid hot teams and couldn't make one extra defensive play. 9 % drop rate plus lacking a number 2 WR to make teams pay. Plus some injuries/weather crept in too that weren't there in 6-3 start (especilaly Steelers, Eagles, Giants and Vikings games). All facts.

New offensive minded head coach on the way.

Vikings did not have half their defense out. Far from it.

Lions missing more players on D by far. And the old Calvin Johnson thing.

Lions were more affected by injuries for that game. Plus on the road. Plus Vikings had a decent finish to the season. They sucked in the beginning of the season way more than the end.

Who cares about the Vikings game?! No one had anything to play for in terms of the postseason.

Allen, Robison, Griffen, Kevin Williams, Floyd,Greenway,Cook, Harrison Smith, Sendejo/Sanford, Erin Henderson all played for the Vikings. Stop making shit up.

Their Oline and WRs completely healthy.

Peterson and Rudolph is it.

Truth of the matter is, in the future people aren't going to look at how well a team was playing when the Lions lost to them. They'll just see that the Lions lost 6 out of 7 to end the season. To me, that's an extremely disappointing way to end the season, especially since it meant we lost a golden opportunity at the playoffs. That's all I care about. I'm just thinking about the offseason now and how the Lions can improve for next year. Schwartz is already fired.

Houston,Bentley,Green(forcing Carey then Greenwood to play), Idonije/Jason Jones(run D), Waddle (run blocking), Pettigrew and Calvin missing made a huge difference.

Plus once again having to play Durham.

Oh yeah they were a real powerhouse. Someone alert the HoF We got another 85 Bears on our hands.

Good teams still beat the Cassel led Vikings. We were not a good team.

They scored 14 points and got 7 on a an extremely short field from a punt retrun with an obvious block in the back. Patterson is a good player and made a great play on a trick play for the other 7. Plus got a big redzone pick and fumble in Lions territory of Asiata by Levy.

Holding the Vikings at their house to 14 despite a RB doing well does the job.

The offense without Calvin, Waddle(run blocking) and Pettigrew(run blocking and receving )couldn't do the job. We need a number 2 WR who can be a number 1 if Calvin gets hurt.

34 points Week 1 with Calvin and Pettigrew playing. Plus could have been more if not for a bad hold and a Suh penatly/tipped ball.

So he needs the best WR in the league and another #1 quality WR to be successful?

Find the correct read and be accurate, all of a sudden your WR look a lot better.

It helps if your WRs actually belong in the NFL. Durham wouldn't be better than a #4 WR on most teams. Burleson couldn't get any seperation. Ogletree did nothing until the game against the Vikings. Stafford played like crap the 2nd part of the season, but his WRs certainly didn't help him out. I'm just looking forward to us actually getting another decent WR next to Calvin so he's able to last more than a few more years. Because at this rate, with the hits he takes from double and triple teams, he'll probably be gone in 3 or 4 years.

nice job mayhew.

nice job mayhew.

I agree that Mayhew did a poor job providing good WRs other than Calvin. It's not because he didn't try, but he probably should've done more research on Titus and should've let Broyles make sure he was fully recovered before sending him back out on the field.

We'll see if he can correct his past mistakes this offseason. I'm hopeful based on the last draft, whether it was Xanders or not. I honestly don't care who made the decisions last draft, as long as it happens again.

Mike Thomas was awesome....

nice job mayhew.

Nice job Mayhew or nice job injuries and unexpected Titus insanity. Plus it was never just Calvin. The games Calvin missed, so did Burleson in one and Pettigrew in another. Both on the road against a divisional rival too. Not the easiest task. Plus Jason Fox started both games at right tackle in those games due to injury to Hilliard then injury to Waddle. For some reason they played Fox over Hilliard Week 17 though. So long run game.

Every team wants number 1 WR depth. Some have, some don't. Mayhew had bigger fish to fry at DE(3), safety, CB(2) and RB this past offseason. You all would have lost your shit if Mayhew took a WR in Round 1 or 2 last year or spent big money on a free agent worthy of number 1 status.

26.6 PPG in the 14 games Calvin played. That is more than good enough.
