Greatest Leftfielder of All Time

BTW for the people who said it's impossible to put up ridiculous numbers at an older age

Hank Aaron-

age 34- .297 + 29 hr

age 35- .300 + 44 hr

age 36- .298 + 38 hr

age 37- .327 + 47 hr

age 39- .301 + 40 hr

Not saying Bond didn't cheat but saying his numbers don't count because theres no way anyone could do it at his age is stupid.

The point is that Aaron put up numbers like that earlier in his career as well. Bonds' stats exploded in his mid to late 30's.

I see 1422 and 1381 and 1379 as unattainable for anyone in his latter 30's. I was upset he started using because I was a fan of his when he played for Pittsburgh and he was hell of player. He would have been an HOF anyway but he had to be stupid.

Aaron did not hit 73 home runs...at age 36...

Its all about this, 1422 and 1381 and 1379. Impossible. He basically got 40% better in his latter 30's. Come on now, that's just not possible.

But he cheated and did it. He was better than just about anyone in the history of baseball during his best years.

But didn't you count those years in an earlier post when debating best of the best? Yeah he was, a great player before roids, and even though I was a fan at the time I don't consider him top 5, top 10 pre 2000.

Oh my lord its not hard....YOU CANNOT LEAVE OUT THE 2000's. THEY WERE PART OF HIS CAREER! Those numbers mixed with any pre 2000 make him a top 5 guy UNLESS you take roids into account. Numbers and on the field ability alone, Bond's TOTAL career makes him top 5 PERIOD. There is no arguement you can make against him. Someone please make ONE legit point against him other than steroids....YOU CAN'T!

I got my best score on my Spanish test because I cheated...does that mean I can speak Spanish?

But Beez, if you don't consider the years when he was on roids, he really isn't one of the best ever. Haven't you ever thought about that?

You're an idiot. I have said numerous times he cheated. I have said numerous times that I don't condone it. But also have said NUMEROUS times his baseball career/ability no matter how you look at it matches up with just about anyone in history. It's not fair to the clean guys but it does. I don't understand whats so hard about this...you crack me up.

Barry Bonds career> Every person but 4 guys to put on a uniform

It's not difficult. If you could have Barry Bonds to hit 3rd/4th and play outfield you would take him over just about any player in the history of the game for a season or career.

This is the dumbest post of the day. If that cheating made you speak fluent spanish than yes. barry bonds cheating made him one of the best players ever.

Your arguement is more comparible to this

You cheating on a spanish test= Barry Bonds hitting 20 hr's but the score keeper marked him for 40. Him going 1-4 but the score keeper marking him for 3-4.

Beez, so he's top 5 because he cheated? That's so awesome. And he's not top 5 if he didn't cheat. Just put it simple. He's top 5 because he cheated. Fair enough.

No the point is, my Spanish fluency was not real and neither are Bonds cartoon numbers. That is why you hear people refer to Maris and Aaron as the real HR champs.

So I guess that solves it..he's top 5. Didn't become top 5 the fair way...but top 5 nonetheless. His on the field performance was better than just about anyone ever. Thats all I was getting at from the beginning.

One guy has an IQ test of 151, the other gjy cheated to get IQ test of 159. Is the other guy smarter? Lol.

I remember a report from someone talking about the Giants wanting to get rid of him despite his high OBP and homers because he was a major liability in the field and he clogged up the bases...so maybe he was not even top 5 when he cheated!
