Get StartedWHAT???
How could it possibly benefit Caldwell??
Perfect! I don't give a flying F if you think I'm wrong, I've watched this organization enough to know they are absolutely clueless in everything that relates to personnel management. And there is ZERO, ZERO benefit to the owner throwing her support behind a coach that could be fired IN THE MIDDLE of a GM search.
I notice not one person has provided the quote from her. I'd say I've made my point.
Schefter didn't say he even talked to her. He said he's heard she supports Caldwell but the new GM will decide. Yet, I guess it's fair to tear her down for a comment she hasn't even apparently made, or at least no one can provide anything showing she did.
You may want to change the title of your post then ink.
Caldwell doesn't benefit by public ally stating the title of this post? I get that you guys want to go full homer but...What's not to get.
Then bounce, motherfucker!!!! BOUNCE!!! We don't need you here, you paranoid freak. You're spinning this into something that its not.
Yeah didn't you know this is a homers only zone?
There it is! Was waiting for it...lol. We're homers now lmfao. You got nothing so we must be homers ....awesome
Given my history on this board... being pretty fair on both sides of any argument, anyone that calls me a homer is laughable in my opinion.
Which is okay, I can always use a good laugh.
Can i be in the cool club and join you guys though?
Defending the indefensible is what a homer does. Ink has put forth the best argument saying that this is at best a Twitter post and not official word from ownership. Otherwise it just throws a wrench into moving forward even if they think it isn't. Things are often about perception and if I can perceive it this way so can a lot of GM and coaching candidates. Say they want to hire a guy like Gase, where would he go? Indy? The Eagles? Or the Lions who have (maybe) public ally thrown support behind the guy that is here.
But, you think a guy like Gase is dumb? One report says they want him. One report says they want to keep the current guy? If he gets a call for an interview.... which one do you think he's likely to believe?
That's the point here. We've seen nothing but conflicting reports. But pessimistic fans automatically choose to believe the reports that make them feel the Lions are blowing it again.
How can both be true? How can the Lions want Gase, but want to keep Caldwell? Makes no sense.
So until the reports stop conflicting, why believe any of them? The only thing worth believing is what came directly from the team. And Wood has said the next GM will make the decision.
Your Avatar is a big blue jug of Kool-aid ink. You have been guzzling from him lately ink.
Given their history (and I know your Martha argument) on which side would you err?
I don't ever drink the Kool-Aid bro. My position on football, and the Lions specifically, is the same as my position on all things in life.
I don't know anything. I won't know anything. They will do whatever they do, and whether I like it or not, next season I will still be a fan. Win, lose.... doesn't change anything. At the end of the day I still pay my mortgage, I go to work... and nothing the Lions can or will do will actually change my life in any way that matters.
I'd love to see a championship. But even if I do, it doesn't improve my life any more than the 0-16 season destroyed it.
I'm the most hopeless of Lions fans. At least some of you guys pretend or threaten to leave this team in the dust and become fans of other teams. You guys have hope of supporting a winner even if it's not in Detroit.
I don't. I know I'm stuck with these losers, even if they never become winners.
